Ladies Waxing

Please arrive for your treatment with fresh and clean skin to avoid the risk of infection. The hair follicles are open for the next few hours after your wax so heat treatments of any kind should be avoided for 24 hours including sun beds, saunas and swimming. No perfume or deodorant should be used on freshly waxed skin for at least 24 hours. Avoid becoming sweaty if the weather is hot as this can cause bacteria on your skin which could lead to a rash. Wear loose light clothing to let your skin breathe after treatment. Fresh items of clothing to put on after your wax can help if you suffer from rashes after waxing.

soreness, small bumps and redness are common and perfectly normal temporary reactions, particularly if this is your first wax. These symptoms should subside over the next 24 to 48 hours. If you experience persistent redness or irritation, or if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me Keep the waxed area clean, and avoid heat and friction during the next 24 to 48 hours.

This means:
No hot baths or showers (washing with cool or lukewarm water is fine).
No saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs also contain chlorine .
No tanning
No sport, gym work or other exercise getting sweaty.

Wear loose fitting clothing.
Avoid swimming in chlorinated water
Avoid highly perfumed personal care products .

Tips:
Adding a cup of Dead Sea salts to your bathwater will help prevent any infection and will also assist healing should any pimples appear after Brazilian waxing

Ingrown hairs occur when a new hair can't break through the surface of the skin and turns back into the pore instead, often resulting in a spot

Q. Can I get waxed on my period?

A. Of course you can! Just wear a clean tampon and tuck the string up inside you out of the way.

Q. Can I get waxed when pregnant?

A. I like to avoid the first trimester but after that of course you can.

Q. how long does the hair need to be?

A. About a cm but from shaving allow 2-3 weeks for a decent growth.

Q. Will there be any stubble in-between?

A. If you are new to waxing yes. This is unavoidable as although I can get all the surface hairs (minus ingrown and ones 1mm long!) I cannot control the hairs that are growing under the skin (new growth) . However after a couple of months all the follicles will have their growth cycle reset and ther shouldn’t be much at all.

Q. Will it hurt?

A. This depends on how you are feeling and your pain threshold. in 17 years I have had to stop on 1 client. Pre-menstrual, hungover and stressed states can affect sensitivity. If you find areas painful there are some breathing techniques we can do to help. Most people don’t even flinch, especially with hot waxing.

Q. What should I avoid before coming?

A. please don’t trim – I do that for you on the day. A great tip though is to exfoliate the front (Pubic Mound) a couple of days before to help release any short or ingrown hairs. Applying layer of Ingrown Serum daily will also help prevent them

Q. What about after? Can I go to the gym?

A. I’m afraid not for 24-48 hrs depending on your skin sensitivity. Also any heat treatments, swimming, self tan, and friction are to be avoided. Apply Ingrown serum after 48 hrs daily – a post wax soothing cream and ingrown prevention.
